What Nike, Intel, PwC & Tektronix Actually Said
By David Koff | Founder, Change Through Play | Updated July 2026
Rather than write our own case studies, we prefer you to hear from the people we’ve trained. Everything you’re about to read comes from the post-workshop surveys that our clients complete. Some of it is glowing. Some of it is more matter-of-fact. All of it is real and gives some insight into why what we do is so valuable.
THE NUMBERS
Our post-workshop surveys ask about 20 questions. A few ask for short answers, but most involve participants answering by providing a number on a sliding scale to asses where they fall on a spectrum. The percentages below are the average individual's improvement. We think those data speak to how powerful and positive our workshops are.
We feel strongly that if the staff at organizations such as Tektronix, Nike, Serenity Lane, Joyful, Federation of Greater Portland, Tivnu, and others improve this notably in core metrics — sometimes after just one session with us — that we’re on to something powerful.

WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING
“David challenged us on how to listen and handle difficult conversations, build authentic relationships & stretch ourselves beyond our comfort zone in order to deliver the best (authentic) professional performance — even for professionals who have done presentations all their lives. As a student of emotional intelligence for 20+ years, I find David’s hands-on coaching to be a home run.”
"David does incredible work in navigating the room toward our goal while being sensitive to everyone's needs and reactions. He creates a safe environment to participate, explore, and have fun!"
— Nir Megnazi, Intel
"Surprising and fun. Unexpectedly deep and memorable. This is the kind of training that I want to bring to my teams."
— Karen Ress, Nestlé Waters North America
"I learned the fact that when things given to us don't make sense, our struggle to make sense of them can actually hinder our velocity and even stop our progress."
— Rachael, Nike
"This work brought my attention to how much our nonverbal cues play a role in communicating with others."
— Eric, Nike
"David always pulls me through. He has a perfect combination of constructive criticism and positive reinforcement — that's something that is very hard to provide consistently. And, best of all: I can see my improvement."
— David Glass, Eisenstein Pham Glass & Rabbat
"It was not stressful but engaging and I got to be silly without being embarrassed."
— Grace Kim, Tektronix
"David has a special touch with accomplished senior leaders; in his work, David generously balances precision and ease, making transformation seeable and achievable for all."
— Hope Delcarlo, Elemental Law
"The fun and safe environment that was created — the exercises built so nicely on each other they were not overwhelming."
— Suzanne Graf, Serenity Lane
"I realized I could practice listening for the sake of listening, not just for knowing when to respond."
— Merit Pinker, Federation of Greater Portland

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is this really measurable, or is it just "fun and games"?
It's measured the same way our addiction-recovery workshop data is measured: participants rate themselves before and after each session on a consistent 0–10 scale, and we calculate improvement from each person's own baseline. It's self-reported, not a controlled study — but it's real data from real sessions, not marketing copy.
What kinds of companies have you worked with?
Everything from Fortune 500 teams (Nike, Intel, PwC, Nestlé) to mid-size companies and professional services firms (Tektronix, Elemental Law, Eisenstein Pham Glass & Rabbat). The format works for any team that communicates, and that's every team.
How long are corporate workshops?
We start with 2-3 hours together. The rest depends on your goals: some clients prefer a one-time team-building workshop, others require multi-session leadership and communication development programs. For more details and options, visit our page on Corporate Training.
Can this be customized for our team's specific challenges?
Yes. Every engagement starts with an on-boarding conversation about what skills your team seeks and what problems they face. We build a curriculum around that — not a fixed script.
Do you offer this outside Portland?
Absolutely. See our Virtual & Nationwide Training page to learn more.
